Career Technology Education (CTE)

The CTE division at Oak Lawn Community High School provides educational courses in the Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Industrial Technology departments.  Programs in the CTE Division teach real-world knowledge and skills, and provides the opportunities for dual-credit, industry-recognized credentials, and meaningful work-based learning experiences.

Business

The Business Department offers courses in a variety of areas of business including marketing, accounting, and entrepreneurship.  Students enrolled in business courses will explore the day-to-day operations of business organizations while earning industry-recognized credentials and having the opportunity to earn dual credit.  

Family and Consumer Sciences

The Family & Consumer Sciences Department offers courses in a variety of areas including culinary arts, child development, and nutrition.  Students enrolled in a Family and Consumer Science course will develop skills to lead better lives, build strong families, and be work and career ready all while earning industry-recognized credentials and having the opportunity to earn dual credit.    

Industrial Technology

The Industrial Technology Department offers courses in a variety of areas including engineering, graphic design, construction, autos, and electricity.  Students enrolled in the Industrial Technology courses will explore careers while using cutting edge technology and earning industry-recognized credentials and have the opportunity to earn dual credit.
